Varieties of bass and some fishing tips to catch more

Redeye Bass
There
are four species of black bass: largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, and
redeye. As you might imagine, fishing tips vary for all of them.
However, the one thing that all these bass have in common is that they
are warm water game fish, so good fishing tips include angling for
them in warmer, enclosed bodies of water.
The largemouth bass is one of the most popular
species to angle for because it is found in almost every state in the
United States. Many manufactured constructions, such as dams and
reservoirs, that have made life difficult for salmon and trout have
benefited this particular species. Fishing tips for largemouths
include looking in weedy, warm water and using live bait like night
crawlers and crickets, and lures like plastic worms and crankbaits.
Bass fishing tips
Other
types of bass include the smallmouth and the redeye. The smallmouth
favors slightly colder waters than its largemouth brethren, so fishing
tips usually recommend hunting for it farther below the surface of the
water in midsummer, when the lake is warm.
The
redeye bass favors warm streams that trout no longer frequent because
they’re too hot. The redeye is said to behave just like a trout but
likes warmer waters, so you might try flyfishing techniques and lures.
Spotted bass are similar to the
smallmouth variety and their fishing tips reflect this kinship. These
members of the family prefer even colder water, and they have been
caught in reservoirs at depths of over one hundred feet. Try
deep-diving lures and jigs, and even live bait can work. Depending on
where you fish, late Fall is often a great time to look for them.
