Fishing Rod Holder
The main purpose of the fishing rod holder is to transport
the fishing rod or rods without causing damage. Boat, car, and kayak
rod holders are handy fishing tools.
Rod holders are not always required for fishing but they come in
very handy when they're needed. Imagine how many broken fishing
rods we would have to deal with if we didn't have fishing rod holders.
We can store fishing rods while not in use during the off-season.
A cheap but sturdy rod holder can be designed from four or six-inch
PVC piping with the end cap glued on one end. It's easy to store
several big surfcasting rods and even fishing gear over long periods
of time in a six-foot length of PVC piping, which is almost unbreakable.
This provides good protection for sending rods through the mail
too.
Is not very comfortable to fish from a motorboat without having
correct rod holders. The problem is that the rods tend to slide
around easily especially on fiberglass surfaces. So they need to
be kept under control until fishing starts, or they can be placed
on the boat rod holder if available.
Fishing racks are popular for small cars with big rods. This is
more common in Australia and Europe where petrol is expensive and
people like to go surf-fishing a lot. When broken in two the surf
rod can be six-foot long, and too long to fit in an economy car.
Kayak fishing is gaining in popularity for several reasons. Kayaks
are easier to store and transport, but above all they provide every
fisherman with the challenge of kayaking as well as catching fish.
As we often say, catching the fish is a bonus. So the kayaker gets
plenty of fresh air and lots of exercise, and is not too bothered
by getting all wet.
Due to space restrictions in the function of kayaking, more than
any other style of fishing, the kayaker needs a rod holder.
Rod holders are practical fishing tools for most types of fishing.
When you buy one you will always wonder how you managed without
it.
